Storm's Strike Rattles CSU

Ligtningtn.jpg (3091 bytes)

"A bolt of lightning from a raucous thunderstorm struck a tree on the Colorado State University campus Wednesday, blowing out windows and
damaging the inside of a nearby building."

"No one was hurt when the tree exploded about 2:50 p.m. on the northeast side of the two-story building that houses CSU's Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands. The towering ash tree stood between the center and the old field house on South College Avenue".

..."Other witnesses likened the lightning strike to a bomb blast. It left a 3-foot-deep crater and splintered the tree into thousands of pieces."
