CEMML Workshops, Short Courses, and Training

Several factors support environmental and sustainable land management programs to include communication, education, and proper application. Through workshops,
short courses, and training programs, the Center works with land managers and military trainers toward the successful application of ideas, techniques, and programs.

Technical Workshops and Symposia

The Center has developed, organized, and hosted numerous technical workshops and symposia, such as Land Condition-Trend Analysis workshops, Land Rehabilitation and Maintenance Symposia, Soil Erosion Modeling Workshops, and Sustainable Range Management Workshops. These workshops and symposia provide technical support at DoD, Service, and Major Commands.

Short Courses

Short courses covering program design and application (RTLA, ITAM), GIS integration and use of spatial data analysis programs (ArcInfo, ArcView, ERDAS Imagine, and GRASS), and data management and application are available through CEMML. Courses can be tailored toward general or specific audiences, both military and civilian.

Professional Training

Hands-on applications of computer systems, global positioning systems, and field equipment for inventory and monitoring of soils, vegetation, and wildlife are available
either on-site or at the Center. Individual and small-group instruction expands participants’ abilities to support their installation’s needs.
